Who Is Responsible?

September 25, 2009

By Bill Harrison

Do you have any issues in your organization?

Do you find yourself “complaining” about some things that are or aren’t happening? Are you looking at certain individuals and/or work units and are not satisfied with their performance?

Well, who is responsible for this? I have heard enough - “You just can’t get good help anymore.” Whatever is happening right now, all the good stuff, and all the not so good stuff, is a reflection of what the top person or persons are doing or not doing!

Ouch!

Does that mean that the top person or persons are responsible for everything? The answer is YES!

When you sit in the top chair(s); of your company, your department, your work unit, it is an awesome responsibility. When you sit there you can not blame anyone else for what is happening.

Never?     Never!
